Training fees set to rise

November 2005

Thanks to increased hall-hire charges in all countries where GKR operates, training fees will reluctantly be raised over the coming months. In some classes, fees may already have risen.

Hall price rises have been particularly acute in the cities, where training price rises may be greater. Numerous factors such as higher oil costs, and increased building taxes have affected operating costs. Furthermore, as people become ever more health-conscious, sports halls are becoming a more valuable resource, making it a sellers' market for the centre operators.

Suburban fees are likely to increase by about 10%, whilst inner-city fees could go up by as much as 20%.

It has been GKR's policy to maintain prices for as long as possible, but in many cases this has meant that classes have been run at a loss. In some rare cases, this has forced GKR to close dojos. However, it is hoped that these modest increases will stave off this last resort measure in all by the most expensive, and poorly attended dojos.

This has occasionally lead scare-mongers to suggest, ridiculously that GKR is on the brink of World-wide closure. Such rumours have occasionally been propagated by rival karate organisations. With over 55,000 students world-wide training EVERY WEEK, and more regions opening all the time, GKR has never been stronger.

Students who pay using the new pre-payment system will be unaffected, and pre-payment prices are likely to remain unchanged for the foreseeable future.

Pre-payment already offers a money saving way to pay for your lessons, but now it will save you even more.
