Bear hand - Kumade

Overview
This technique is used almost exactly like a Teisho. It uses the pad of the hand to deliver a sharp strike to the target. Whewreas a tisho may be delivered in a straight line like a punch, or an arc, the bear hand is primarily used in a swinging motion, like a Haito.

Technique
Create a knife hand, then curl all fingers back at the first joint until they lay flat against the palm. Hold the hand tightly in this shape. Keep the thumb clenched against the edge of the hand to reinforce the bones of the palm. Deliver in a swinging motion, keeping the wrist straight.

Strengths

A good technique for delivering a crushing injury from outside angles. Ironically, it's particularly useful as a groin strike escape from a bear hug. Delivered to the ears, can be used to rupture the ear drums, causing immense.

Weaknesses

Fingers can easily get injured.
