Overview
The most basic tool of the martial artist, the straight punch is versatile, powerful, and natural to use. It can be used to disable, or to kill, making it a good first choice weapon whatever the situation. It can also be used upside down as a short punch or uppercut.

Technique
Close the hand into a tight fist, with the thumb tucked out of the way. Align the wrist so that the bones are straight in both axes. Strike with the front two knuckles.
Strengths
Extremely powerful. Can be used to hold opponent at bay or deliver a sharp shock. Can be used to any body part, from almost any angle, from almost any position.
Weaknesses
Easy for the untrained user to break their hand or wrist. Ideally needs knuckle conditioning or technique will hurt you.
